    Default Pale Thrush II

A pale thrush leaps between two branches today at a park in Shanghai. A tree still yielding berries brought this normally shy bird within 12 meters of me and my hungry camera. In contrast to my earlier shot of this species*, in this one no great feat of Photoshop engineering was required.

    Device: Nikon D3S
    Lens: VR 600mm F/4G
    Focal length: 600mm
    VR: OFF
    Aperture: F/5.6
    Shutter Speed: 1/3200
    Exposure Mode: Aperture Priority
    Exposure Comp.: +0.67
    Metering: Center-Weighted
    ISO Sensitivity: ISO 3200
    Subject Distance: 11.9 m
Photoshoppery: Not much processing, so no need to post original. A few sticks content-awared out using Photoshop CS5. Noise reduction on BG but not on branch or bird. Cropped.

The photo is well exposed, and I like the leap. However, I find the striations in the BG a bit distracting.
