    Canon 7D Canon 500mm f4 L IS ISO 400 1/2000 sec f7.1.
    Small crop and I cloned a twig to the left of the bird.

    Beautiful bird ( I like the chevrons on the feathers) and lovely colors...Like the exposure under the wing. Looks like a halo is visible from the sharpening and also maybe from reducing Hi-lites as well...Not sure what caused it but definitely a lighter ring around the bird...Worth a revisit to PP as its a nice image.

    Georgous image! You've really made a common bird look uncommonly beautiful. The pose with the outstretched wing looks great. The exposure looks like it would've been tough for this bird in the light, but you've really brought out a lot of nice detail in the bird.

    Dumay there may well be a halo - you are not the only person to mention it. I personally think I can imagine one, but I reallythink it is an optical illusion due to the contrast between the bird and the sky.

    Jonathan the image shows the features of this species so well. Nice pose and colours are well managed in the strong light. Like the feather detail under the wing.
