    Default Carduelis (Fringillidae)

    I very like this bird. But, long time i can't sneak up to bird. And last september using special soundtrack,Ipod and hide, i made a few photos.
    This birds like burdock, that i used for attraction...
    Nikon D300s, Nikkor 300 afs f4, full frame, 1/1250, f7.1, CNX 2.x, a bit USM.

    And there it is - Gorgeous bird,have not seen one before.
    Lots to like here - Sharp, Exposure looks good, Good HA and detail throughout!
    I might have tried to back off just a little to include all of the perch - the cut off part does draw the eye away from the subject - IMHO!
    Hence maybe a little more space all around??
    You could easily get rid of the dark area's in the BG if yo were so inclined.

    Other than perhaps Lance's comment on recovering the rest of the perch if possible, this photo looks stellar to me. Great job.

    Beautiful image of this European Goldfinch. I love thier red faces, so different than our finches.
    Sharp, great details, light, BG, perch and colr.

    Lance, thank you for your advices. About back off - i really had problem, because i made a photos in shelter and unfortunately can't to move another place with my nikkor 300 f4.
    I agree about a little more space all around.

    Vladimir, good to see you posting. Lovely image! I totally agree with Lance's critique. You sure got a lovely angle and head turn on this one. Nice and detailed...I'd also clean up the BG in the Upper Right Corner (URC).
