Was round at Willowbank Wildlife Reserve this morning to get the antics of the recently arrived pair of captive South Island Kaka which will hopefully produce young ones.
Just saw Daniel's message so thought this one might fit in.
Bit hard shooting thro' netting @ ground level but plan is for a walk thro' aviary later.
The Kakas are very much like Keas in hard case attitude and plumage but the Kaka is a forest parrot while the Kea is an alpine parrot.
    Details: Pentax K10D with Sigma 18-200 lens @ 200mm.
    1600 ISO. 1/350 @ F6.7 Minus 0.5 EV.
    Multi Segment metering. Overcast mid-day.
Comments & Reposts welcome as always.

Hey Ian, that certainly is down to eye level...quite an intimate view of the feedeing behaviour. Good job in retaining focus on the eye with the cone close and in front of it. I do wish said cone wasn't blocking off so much of the head.

P.S. Moved your post out of the sticky thread and gave it its own thread in Avian...
