    Here is a picture of the male Downy we have in our yard. We are hoping he will mate with one the females that are also visiting our yard.

    I like the wing pattern on his wing and the hint of red. I think image needs a little bit more sharpening to bird?

    A beautifully designed image with a good EXP. The head is angled slightly away from us and the head at least needs to be sharpened.

    Thank you for the comments and suggestions. I will try sharpening the image especially the head. I knew someone would comment on the head angle and I agree it would be a better image with the head turned more towards us. The reason I posted this image, however, was that the images with the head turned did not show the red male plumage that I thought was important.

    With the red so tiny even with the head turned away I would much prefer the head square to the imaging sensor.

    You might try for one with the bird turned 180 degrees away from you to show the full red patch of the male.....
