Quite a belly on this lion. Nice separation between subject and background. How high off the ground was the lion? Very nice environmental portrait. TFS.

Thanks Harshad, not how high you were, but the lion from the ground!

Hi Harshad, another nice unusual one, the tree frames him very well. Well done on getting yourself higher up Looks like you had a good time with lions

Who ever said a leopard can't change his spots?--LOL!!! I think I would prefer to see the lion in little more of a ROT position but the configuration of the branches might present some challenges. In any case, this is a fine, and uncommon, environmental image.

very nice Bhai - love seeing lions in trees (actually, I love seeing lions in any other position than sleeping haha )

I would crop slightly tighter from RHS and bottom to remove the twigs sticking into the frame at the bottom and place the lion on a stronger point composition-wise.

Very nice! Like how the tree frames the lion.

Great capture from a more unusual perspective. I like how the tree's limbs form a triangle and diagonally bisect the image in two and would be lost if cropped. I however am a little bit distracted by the branch in the upper right hand corner and the one in the lower right hand corner, perhaps a vignette might help w/ that issue if you are adverse to removing them.

    Harshad,

A fine young male who is obviously not hungry

Your tremendous run of good sightings continues, a Lion lying down but in a tree, no doubt escaping the flies.

I would prefer to see a much tighter crop as to my mind the branches do not really add a lot, particularly those at the top.

What do you think of this?

Seems to have gone a little yellow in conversion

    hi Harshad
lovely image.. I am trying to figure out how he got in to that tree with that belly!!

Do u have a portrait version to show the scale of how high he was in the tree?

Is this a male or female lion? It looks to me to be a lioness. Will anyone confirm one way or another? Thanks.

The obvious signs are not visible

I am no expert, but there is definitely the start of mane growth and the head seems quite large. I would estimate it is around 2/3 years.
