I love the diagonal composition very much. Great interaction going on. The whites are very well controlled, as are the blacks. I love that blurry foreground; as if they are on a cloud - just lovely. I am impressed with how you managed to make the white of the birds stand out against the all white background. Great work. I only wish the wing and tail weren't cut off - such a pity. But still a wonderful image.

Wonderful image Sid and nice moment captured. Nice and sharp, a few areas on the whites that are close but not blown. Good job on balancing the tough exposure with white/black bird and environment

Wonderful image Sid I can not wait to work the colony again this summer. Great HA on both birds and you know I have no problem with clipping the wings and tail of the male Tern. I think you could make the image even stronger if you toned down the whites on the neck of both birds just a tad more.

Hi Sid, good control (as has been noted) over the whites. I very much appreciate the behavior that you've captured here. The clipped wings don't bother me. I'm left with some questions, however. What's the cottony white stuff at the bottom? Also, what's the BG? Am I looking at clouds? Were the BG and foreground manipulated so as to create the dreamlike effect? If so, I have no problem with that; indeed, I'd like to know your modus operandi.

    Craig,

Clouds in the foreground are white shells and background is white sand. Florida has some very nice white sand beaches. Image is straight out of camera. Only cropped and minor adjustments in photoshop.
