    Default Short Eared Owls

One of my favorite static shots of these neat little owls. Not sure if they are a mated pair or not. Photographed at last light at a friend's home on Lake Erie. They like to hide in this wood pile but sit up on it near dusk.

    Mike:
Great light, good DOF, intense stare, good BG.

Perch is very massive, but interesting, esp. for being sawn off.
I would be inclined to crop up from the bottom to just above the large horizontal stick.

    Cheers

That's the light we wish for!!
Would hope for a different perch, but usually we have to take what we can
    I like Randy's crop suggestion.
