    Pink-eared Duck photographed in the Riverina, New South Wales.

    Canon 7D, EF500 f/4, skimmer+mongoose+kwik camo, ISO 400, 1/2000, f/8, ec -2/3. Several distracting elements digitally removed including the tail of passing grebe at lower right and its wake, also corrected tilt and added canvas to slivers. Slight crop for composition from top and left.

    Wow, Simon! Lovely shot! Excellent the way the foreground seamlessly merges with the background. Great pose and detail. Just one thing I would have done is dodged the eye a little to show more detail. Skillful PP work.

    What a striking looking duck. Makes me think it was made up of spare parts from a Northern Shoveler, raccoon and zebra!

    Great low shooting angle,exposure and sharpness.

    Wonderful looking species wich i have never seen before. The low POV really works well for this shot and compliments on your post processing.

    Great photo of a beautiful bird! Agree with all previous comments: low angle, details on bird, combination of BK colors all work to make this an outstanding image.

    Also love Randy's description. If that bill was any longer, the poor bird would probably tip over...

    Nice shot.

    When naturalist first sent back some Australian fauna to Britain, like the Platypus, they thought it was a joke and someone had rather stitched together various parts of different animals.:eek:

    This low angle works well here.

    Bizzarre! Beautiful. Amazing. The bill is half the bird. When folks ask me why I like birds I will send them a link to this wonderful image. All that and it does not look like all duck!
