I know a lot of you are enduring the harsh winter back east so I thought I'd post a Northern Cardinal taken last spring time as it is just around the corner....

Love pose and BG. The dichotomy of the soft, feathered bird with the prickly perch works well. I like the crop very much. It all came together nicely.

Super image love the colours and detail. Not entirely sure about the crop - having said that I am sure you considered your options, a difficult one with the bird being more or less at right angles to the gorse.

Real nice James. Like the vibrant colors on bird, soft BG colors, and prickly texture of perch.
Nice pose & eye contact, wondering about rotating a bit so that perch is at a diagonal. Well done!

The soft light has brought out the reds very well, and I really like the detail and sharpness.

The bird loos wonderful! Not crazy about the perch being vertical.
