    Default Black-crowned Night Heron

An image from this past summer of an adult Black-crowned Night Heron. Some cloning done to remove remnants of a spider web and a small feather on the tip of its beak. Initial edit performed in Capture NX, final adjustments in CS3, final sharpening after reducing image size performed with NIK ProSharpener

I think this is beautiful. Such clarity in this image. Spot on exposure, lovely setting and composition. Just great.

    Richard:

The bird looks very good, sharp, well exposed, good head angle.

A couple minor thinks I might try.
Clone out the leaf touching his face
Gentle vignette of both lower corners. The LLC in particular is a bit busy, so the vignette would soften it a bit.

    Cheers

    Randy

Richard, beautiful details on the bird. I like the inclusion of the habitat and think that it looks geat as presented.

Richard, good comp and placement of the heron. Sharp with good detail, and stands out nicely against the darker BG. Randy made some good points.

Very nice image Richard, good exp., detail and sharpness, and like the rich habitat detail and colors. Good contrast and subject placement all makes for a nice composition. Well done!
