    Workshop: Roma, TX

    D3, 300/2.8, ISO 1600, f2.8, 1/3200.

Day 1 of our Roma workshop and it's 30 degrees with freezing rain. Tough shooting conditions, but its crazy busy at the feeders due to the cold weather, so lot's of photo opportunities. Here's one from yesterday.

    Alan:

Interesting bird, a new one for me. Looks like it has been a tough winter for him based on his beat up plumage.

Sharp, well exposed, nice full down wing position, slight head turn back towards us.

Well, your weather beats -5 and a foot of new snow!

    Cheers

    Randy

Tough shot to get and you nailed it. Great to see this specie in flight.

Good flying posture Alan, and you nailed a perfect HA. I like the complimentary BG.

I really don't think you could ask for a better focussed image than this, it's a beauty, love the colours too.

Superb. You nailed the head turn here..which is not easy with this flight path. Stunning.

Note: the low in Roma was about 25 degrees today with N/NW winds gusting to 37 mph....
