    Default "Smudgy" Altamira Oriole

At Bentsen Rio Grande there were a few of these "smudgy" Altamira Orioles that did not have teh defined black throat of most Altamiras. Some were saying that they were Audubon x Altamira hybrids - but I'm not sure?

Anyways I hope you enjoy the image.

Great image, Glenn. I really like the composition, and the detail is outstanding. The soft light with fill flash is very nice.

Top shot Glen - I like the diagonal pose here, good exposure and fine detail. The yellow lichen complements the same tone of the bird and the 2 clumps of lighter toned lichen balances the composition nicely. Well executed!!

The lichen and moss help set off a beautifully photographed bird.

Whatever the pedigree, this is a really beautiful bird. The composition and detail are quite superb.
