Recently, when opening BPN website, I get the following pop-up:

"To help protect your securitym Internet Explorer blocked thsi site from downloading files to your computer. Click here for options.."

What files is BPN trying to download to my computer??

Probably something in my machine, but I've run all my anti-virus and anti-spam programs I have....

We're not trying to do anything tons of other sites already do. It uses scripting (AJAX, JAvascript, etc...) and cookies. It will also use pop-windows to open things liek the private message window, attachment upload.

Directly from Microsoft on what that bar prompts on, a couple of which are mentioned above.

When will I see the Information bar?

If Internet Explorer is still using its original settings, you'll see the Information bar in the following circumstances:

• If a website tries to install an ActiveX control on your computer or run an ActiveX control in an unsafe manner.
• If a website tries to open a pop-up window.
• If a website tries to download a file to your computer.
• If a website tries to run active content on your computer.
• If your security settings are below recommended levels.
• If you access an intranet webpage, but have not turned on intranet address checking. For more information, see Changing intranet security settings.
• If you started Internet Explorer with add-ons disabled.
• If you need to install an updated ActiveX control or add-on program.
• The webpage address can be displayed with native language letters or symbols but you don't have the language installed.

Yes I read all that before, all I am asking is why does this only pop up with BPN and has anyone else had this problem, so I can get rid of it...or do I just let the file download...

You had "New Private Message" set to open in a pop up.
I disabled it for you.

Thanks James..Pop-up still came up must be a IE download, on further checking the pop up came up hotmail, sympatico..etc, places I seldom go...

I booted up in safe mode..with all my spyware, anti-virus on
I let the IE pop-up download the file, ran my software..eveything seems ok,
Back on normal mode

Ok now its back
I think its a script error with IE

When I allow the download of the file the following message appears in Frontpage:

I am going to try to uncheck the box for IE script error messaging in Advanced settings and see what happens...

After disabling all script error messages the pop-up still comes up I'll as the IT guys at work if there's anything going around that causes this...

I began to notice this after going on Facebook to wish someone a Happy Birthday, then deactivated account.

The IT guys upstairs are looking into it but only thing I've found so far is below..something to do with Shockwave..when I get home later I check under MANAGE ADD-ONS in tools folder

There seems to be lots of activity online due to this problem which started February:

I had the same problem, with IE, and I can tell it is a .ccs file (cascading style sheet) which is what web pages use to control what they look like. It is not a program, and I can't see it being a problem other than the IE messages that keep coming up

I have found a way to stop it...not sure if it gets rid of it, just stops it....

Under tools
Manage add-on's
Show (left screen near middle): All Add-ons
Disable IE Shockwave by right clicking on the name and hit disable..
close browser reopen should be gone, at least it was for me
