light snowfall here, so a grey sky. Ideal for Cards. Just a little color upgrade using brush tool. Cropped.

Good head angle. A bit of a tight crop in my opinion and the branch in the BG intersecting with the tail is a little distracting. I enjoy these birds :)

A nice view of this beautiful fella. I find the perch a bit large, and it has some "purple fringing" along the bottom edge. I also detect a cloning mark below the tail, careful with those types of subtle details. An additional round of sharpening to the subject would bring out the finer feather details for web presentation. You got a nice profile pose, and I do note the great HA - perfectly turned a bit towards us.

Nice capture, Hazel. Cardinals visit my feeders regularly but never perch for me when I'm in my hide.

With this snow, my backyard is swarming with these guys. On the image, pro's: I like the soft light, good feather detail on back & belly. Con's: I can't see a highlight in his eye on my monitor; and I want that crest up.

Thanks everyone. Daniel, I see those things now. Good for me to find newer things to be aware of. I'll work on them.

    Hazel:

good comments from the folks above. There is enough natural catchlight that you can bring it up a bit to give the eye a bit more snap.

    Cheers

    Randy
