One happy bear after a fruitless 20 minutes fishing he/she finally landed a fish which was then despatched very quickly.

Taken mid morning so the light was getting quite harsh, but at least managed not to blow the whites based on the RAW file. Just loved the power these bears can unleash, echoed in Shreyas recent posting too.

Hi Steve, I like the action imparted by the bear's stance, and the claws really stand out with white water streaming off them. Exp looks good. Nice action shot, and techs look good to me.

    Steve,

Action good to be sure. Bright fish does draw the eye a lot however. Typical problem with the salmon (bright) and bear (dark) and exposing for the bear.

Might drop the exposure on the salmon to reduce the glare and knock it back a bit, WDYT?

    cheers

Steve - nice action. I agree with Robert that the bright underside of the salmon draws our attention but I do like the hint of red/pink near the tail. I also like the water spray/trail.

What a great action shot! Love the water off the fish and where the bear comes out of the river.

I'd try what Steve suggested if it were mine; but I'd also be ectsatic with what you posted.

Great action here. Agree with trying to tone down the fish belly somewhat, if it works without looking unnatural. Really like the water and the bear pose.

Great action Steve and almost too sharp. Water droplets are perfect.

I would reduce EXP on the Salmon.

Good to see that the gulls had decided against a cameo role in this one !!

    Cheers

Wonderful action here and great colors. I would reduce EXP on the salmon if it were mine. It is rather bright. Love seeing the enviroment, all the water droplets and the movement of the salmon.

Amazing moment captured here Steve! The cloning you did at the bottom of the image is very noticeable ...The water pattern is identical in the first 6mm and then the next 1 cm after that. Maybe mix it up a bit. Water splashes are awesome here. Exp on the Salmon will be tough to sort out.

Sorry Steve...I thought there was cloning... I have attached a cropped piece of the bottom of the image...You will see why I thought there was cloning done there as you can see the pattern repeats itself quite constantly especially noticeable in the left and right hand side... the sparkles on the left corner, by your logo ( The number is exact and identical in appearance )

    Bang to rights Dumay.

There were two layers one for the BG the other for the bear, but looking at the PSD Ihad duplicated the BG again DOH and moved it, easily done. This section is taken from the raw file direct with no changes.

Very grateful for pointing it out as I need to change it when I get back. More haste less speed me thinks.
