Same bird as my last image. For this one I expanded the canvas more and since the head in this image seemed as sharp (or soft) as the rest of the image I only applied smart sharpen after resizing to web size, though a bit more aggresively than the previous image. I hope it Ok that I post a screen shot of the image opened in ACR, as a reply to this post, to show where I started from. comments and critique welcomed. regards~Bill

Bill, they are such great colors! Very nicely done but there is a small artefact above the wing UR.

Thanks Colin. You have a sharp eye. I now see the artifact and it has something to do with the content-aware fill I used in the area. Sometimes CA fill does some pretty strange stuff, but on whole is works very well, and IMO it alone makes CS5 worth the upgrade price. . regards~Bill

    Bill,

I like the high-key look and you did well on the additional canvas. Landing wing position attractive and shows off the colors nicely.

The light has brought out the colours nicely, and well on extending the canvas, especially at the bottom.

You did a great job with this one, Bill. The crop you gave it looks good, the colors pop a tad more and it's a little sharper where it really matters. Your obvious hard work paid off.

Beautiful pose, especially the wings. Love the background too.

You did a great job with that one.
