I was thrilled yesterday when I got the email announcing the release of Denise's new Creative Filter Guide. I immediately made my online purchase, stopped working and started to read it. Once again she did not disappoint me... on the contrary, her guide inspired and motivated me. Not only is it very well written and filled with beautiful creative & artistically well done images but one can easily appreciate the time & effort that went into creating this guide. As a Photoshop Ext. Certified person I can honestly say that it's a must have guide. It is detailed with step by step instructions and easy to understand.
I used various different methods/filters from the guide to create this winter image.
Denise this one's for you! Thanks for your inspiration.

Nice image, Susan! Even though you have the lines in the snow in front of the duck, it still seems to be floating on the image. But I have no clue on how to make it look more integrated into the snow. Perhaps it is the color difference that is throwing me off.

Susan, or Denise, what filters are discussed in the Guide to Creative Filters and Effects?

Thanks Denise & Cheryl for your comments. I used an omni lighting technique from the guide on the duck because I wanted him to stand out. As far as the guide goes she covers a large number of different filters and PS techniques.

Susan, I really like the unique way you treated the background. The mallard is a stark contrast that emphasizes the cold for me. Great job (and title).

Beautiful image, Susan! Very nice composition and I love the filter treatment. It has kind of an engraved look to it. Well done!

Hi Susan, this is a very cool looking image, love the effect you have created. Fitting title for my neck of the woods - it has been going down at night to -30C here with the odd night at a balmy -20C.

Susan, what a very unique and stylized composition you created here. It does a good job to excentuate the cold, and the duck is an island of bright color and maybe a little warmth, or warmth for the spirit in a stark & cold environment. Very creative use of effects and filters using Denise's guide - well done!
