    Day one, Yellowstone

The snow pack is the most in years and red fox are abundant. In fact I have seen more fox today than the two previous years put together. With temps dropping dramatically to-20-30F and beyond and snow predicted over the next two days conditions should be spectacular...providing we all survive.

Certain exceptional colour & fine detail here Chas, you can just feel the depth of that thick, bushy coat. These animals, like the wolf images, really do suit this terrain and back drop, highlighting their magnificent colour.

Is it the wind, that is blowing the coat along the side of the body?

    A pleasure to view.

awesome image quality Chas - the diagonal motion is very dynamic, and the fox really "leaps" from the snow to treat the eyes.

    certainly masterful exposure!

Outstanding image Chas. Techs spot on as usuall, great color and detail. The diagonal line of the fox works great. Glad to here your trip is going well, unfotunately this winter I won't make it have to wait for spring. Well done.

Incorporating a diagonal into the image makes for a dynamic presentation.

Nice shot. A uniquely pale colored fox compared to most I've seen. It makes a nice, subtle contrast with the snowy surroundings.

Technically superb. But I've never cared much for straight profile shots
