Last one of Whoopers and I have it quite hard to get anything too novel.

I was pleased to see this wing synchrony; gone for a vertical crop this time.

Richard- the image really conveys a feeling of these birds moving over their habitat. I very much like it. You could go for a horizontal crop with the birds a bit tighter but I like this one with the inclusion of the habitat. I like the placement of the birds and the balance with the big bush in the FG. As you say, the two birds with identical wing patterns give a very pleasing pattern. I'm viewing the image on an uncalibrated monitor but I wonder if a little increase in saturation may increase the impact of the image.

    Hi John

    Glad you like the pic

Ironically I cut down sat a little as my previous shots had a little too much

Repost has it put back (was still loaded in PS)

    Thanks

I agree with John. I really like the inclision of habitat with this one. Also very nice position of the birds and flight pattern.

If mine I might level it out on the horizon line of the grass and crop out the fence line. I like the colour of the second post but might add some black to the whites to get some more detail in wings.

    Very nice photo.

Richard, I also like the symmetry of the birds and the inclusion of the habitat. I also think you can recover a bit more detail in the whites - they are quite bright but not blown so there should be some more detail there. What I'm wondering about is the deep blue shadows on their backs and the edges of their wings...it looks quite odd to me. Did you try to tone it down at all?

    Dave

Thanks, tried your suggestions(little black in whites, levelled grass h, cropped fence out, yay or nay?

    Julie

Tried to hit that blue ; only idea is that it seems to be a component of the harsh light and shadows?
However I have reset whites so shadows are in fact paler

    Nicely done Richard.

I am finding out more and more that it is the very small details things that pull image quality a bit higher.
