Default Project Winter #3: Tufted Titmouse

Since this is the last day of the month I figured I'd post one more in this series. This is the third species to land on the pine branch perch near my feeders over a 30-minute period earlier this month. (For February I'll retire this perch and find something new.) Very slight crop, and cloned out a branch.

Bill, terrific feel and image design. Sharpness is excellent as well.

Bill, lovely wintery mood to this, especially seeing the falling snow. Cute little fellow, and I like the snow gathered on the cones.

Ah, another American bird that I miss, the tufted titmouse. I'm glad you had the camera out as the snow was falling. With the falling snow, one gets the impression that one is viewing an event in time. I like your roomy crop; the bird is part of a wider scene.

Indeed. Very nice composition and technicals of a handsome specimen. The cold background tones compliment the bird well. I might wish for green pine needles on the perch -- or maybe not. The browns all work with the titmouse coloration.

Hi Bill, love the composition and winter feel you have captured in this image.

Another sweet image Bill. Nice pose and exposure. Sharpness looks good as well. Snowfall adding to the image. Well done.

Really like the position of the bird and the fact you left in the pine cones. Like the little bit of water on the bill as well.

That perch served you well, and I like the wintery feel you got here with the falling flakes and accumulation on the cones. Nice loose comp. I do wish for a better HA, and the pupil needs to be darkened, with a catchlight then added (or enhanced if faintly present).

Thank you all for looking. I appreciate the kind comments. Daniel, the eye bothered me but I wasn't sure why. A dull reflection of the snow-covered ground perhaps, with no definition. Darkening the pupil should help give it some life. I'm not sure what you mean about the HA; looks good to me relative to the sensor plane - maybe it should be turned a bit upwards toward the viewer??

Bill, I really like the image design. Beautiful pose, perch, BG and the water drop on the tip of the beak is a nice touch.

With the body angled towards us, the head at this particular angle gives the impression of it being turned, or turning away...if it were swiveled to the same angle as the body it would have been best (IMO of course)

Thanks for the explanation. Your opinion is always appreciated.
