looks different, but quite striking in that "golden glow", but fitting for a king

    Awesome flight shot.
How you get the whole bird sharp at F5.6? I normally try to shoot my fly shots at F7.1 to F8.

Raul, thanks. At the distance I'm shooting, 400 plus 1.4X, which makes it 560mm on a full frame camera, I'm not worried about depth of field, unless it was another pose I guess, I usually work wide open with long lenses, even in tight portraits, even when ethe bird is facing me, unless I want the bill in focus. What focal length do you use?

    Thanks guys!

For birds in flight I use 400mm (Canon 100-4000 set a 400) on a Mark II (crop factor 1.3).

I also have 500mm, normally with a 1.4TC on 40D on a wimberly head, which I don't use for birds in flight yet... I have not practice enough with this setup ... I could come up with more excuses, but I guess I have been lazy.

    Thanks
    Raul

Great light on this Fabs. Welcome to the Nikon world. I'm expecting some really great creative art type pictures from that D3 :)
