Hi Ken, it doesnt look like he's going to make the landing in time. I like how the youngster is peering out the nest. Ive never seen a marabou in flight.

Great action capture. Nice BG and nest looks good. baby bird adds a lot. Good detail on the whites but wish there was more detail in front wing. Rear wing has a slight blue cast? Is that the wing of another youngster in the LRC?

Neat! We usually see photos of Great-blue Herons like this

I like the hint of clearing among the cloudy sky. Good incoming pose from the adult and I also like the young one anxiously awaiting its next meal. I do wish the wing in LRC was not there, but often difficult to have clean images in rookeries.

Great timing! Like the youngsters head on the bottom.

    Thanks for the comments.

Given my last realy bad effort at cloning I decided not to remove the wing in LRC.

Timing was relatively easy as the incoming birds were hovering in a strong wind.

I really should have put the EV up.

    Stuart,

No idea why but I have lots of Maribou in flight, but would really prefer some less ugly birds

    Daniel,

Twigs everywhere, loads of my images are spoiled by intrusive branches and other birds, but now and again they work out. Great place to be though.
