    This little guy was lying by the side of the road in the Kruger Park on a rainy day in December 2009.

    Don't know how is shell came to be full of gravel.

    Techs:
    Nikon D300s with 200-400mm VR @ 380mm
    f4.0 @ 1/1250 SS @ ISO-640

    You hit the focus right on the nose . It looks like one of the snapping turtles that lay their eggs in my garden mulch. Judging by the claws and the pattern of debris on its back, it looks like it has been digging.

    Nice eye contact here Morkel. I like the arch of OOF pebbles on the shell and how it sort of frames the cleaner in focus parts.

    Sharp where it needs to be Morkel.

    I suspect it has been digging its way into the gravel for some reason.
