Wanted to keep the cold morning misty feel, so haven't warmed this up. Out on the Marsh it was -2 degrees. Can't wait to be in Florida in a weeks time

    D300 + sigma 500mm
    taken at 1/800s at 5.6

    Any help/critiques very much appreciated.

    regards.

COOL shot Stuart! I really like the monotone look with just a hint of color, the contrast of the OOF misty areas and the crisp sharpness and clarity of the Swans, with their bill color standing out. I like the comp also! I might remove the whitish object in the middle of the frame on the ice near the far shore though.

Beautiful shot Stuart. I like the feel of the fog and frost. If possible I would like a tighter crop. I think you have enough canvas to still get the overall feel and mood but cropping a bit tighter would bring the swans a bit more towards the center of the frame (not centered but just a tad more towards center). Again, very nice image.

I like the mood of this image. I agree about cloning out that bit of white there, but other than that: lovely!

I like it too. It has a nice frosty feel to it.

If mine I would look at some tighter crops also. I might consider a bit of a pano crop keeping birds in bottom as you have done.

The one small point is that it looks like a bit of ccw rotation is called for. Camera may have been level but any of the sort of horizontal lines in photo seem to have slight tilt to them.

Thanks for looking and the help. Will clone out the white object, think it's a piece of ice!

I was wondering If anyone would mention a little rotation. Yes the camera was levelled but I agree, looking at it, looks a tiny bit out.

    Thanks again.

Wow, beautiful. I too like the frostiness. All the colors are complimentary and the swans look majestic. A tighter crop would be my vote as well. TFS Ann
