Default Flying Fox eating up close...

Taken last night here in Sydney. I have used a powerful torch to enable me to focus.
The bats are feeding on fig fruits. They chew the fruit, get the sugar and then spit the pulp - pretty messy eaters...
    Does this work for you?

    Offer,

The first thing to say is it is "upside down"

This must have been very difficult to get not only focus but also the flash.

I am thinking just a tad more lightening might assist.

Ofer - nice technique with the torch, you've got good sharpness throughout. I'm not sure I would know what this was or that it wasn't upside down without having seen your prior shots and/or had your explanation. I feel like it needs some of the wings or the tree its hanging from to give it context so that I understand its not upside down. Just my personal thoughts, I'm sure others will feel differently.

I'm really enjoying your images of the flying foxes.

    Rachel

Nice details in this image Ofer. Good use of the flash. Rachel brings up a very good suggestion. Look forward to more of these images. Well done.

another great behavioural shot of these guys Ofer. I like how it pops against the dark BG. Face seems nicely illuminated to me. was the flash on-camera or off-camera?

Nice pop from the dark BG. Rachel's point about some indications that it is indeed hanging upside down is a good one. With their eating habits I guess a straight up shot from below is a risky proposition

Ofer, I think that the contextual suggestion is a good one, but I love the lighting here - it is really effective. Great work
