This mute swan was imaged at the local bird sanctuary. It makes me cold just to look at it. He had just popped out of the water and was splashing about on the ice.

The soft light allowed nice detail in the feathers, and the flash helped fill in a bit.

    Thoughts always appreciated.

    Cheers

Another good swan shot Randy with the wings out giving it that extra interest. I reckon you could lighten the shadows a little without losing anything elsewhere and giving it a bit of a lift.

Randy, lovely details on the bird - yes, perhaps you could go a tad lighter.
Agree that this does bring on a case of the shivers...

Hey Randy, looks like you are getting your monies worth with these swans. Beautiful subjects to capture all sorts of poses, and you have nailed the exposure nicely here. Overall sharp, and I like the separation between the white of the swan, and the grey BG. Well done.

Lovely detail in the whites here Randy, particularly the wings. Agree with Stuart the Swan stands out nicely from the background. Like the subtle flash management looks very natural.( I still have to experiment with flash )

Awesome image . Great exposure , nice action , lovely BG separation . Maybe it's just me , but i would have liked some more canvas on the left .

Lovely pose you captured, birds stand out nicely from the BG and flash must have helped bring out the extra detail TFS
