In between business appointments i found some time to photograph this juvenile Great crested Grebe in "high-key" style today..
Not at eye level unfortunately as i had to shoot this from the car but i guess at eye level i would have missed out on the reflection.

    greetings,

    Jeroen Stel

Excellent calling pose, angle and high-key treatment. loved it. Grebes are tough ones.

I like the way you shot this, as it works well. Nicely done.

    Jeroen:

Striking pose, high key works well here.
Although the reflection isn't strong, I think it gives some sense of balance to the image which otherwise has no solid points of reference because of the high key style.

    Cheers

Love the high key look, the REFL, and the painterly look. The face could go a bit lighter.

Jeroen, This is a lovely image. I really like the high key look to the image and the reflection is nice. I agree the face could be a bit lighter but this is wonderful!!

Nicely done Jeroen agree with the comments above. The image and title has an aura of mystique about it.

Good high key effect, and well timed to capture the open beak. Your comp works well.
