My first decent shot of this species. They are tiny and hardly ever come within my reach. I was more than glad when this one just popped out. got a few clicks before he popped back in...and then came out further away. They just dont give you any time.

    All C&C welcome.

Just ove the low level you got here (turning out to be quite a trademark for you..).
Well done getting this difficult species and the light in this shot is excellent.

    greetings,

    Kaustubh,

Congrats on getting this species. I have also had trouble with them, for the same reasons you mention. Not only did you capture him, but he has a nice alert pose, good detail and HA, and an absolutely killer BG, not to mention your usual low shooting angle. Very nicely done.

    Kaustubh:

Well done on all counts. Low angle, sharp, well exposed, nice BG, good angle in frame.

Congrats on a new one for you.

    Cheers

Really gorgeous light, nice pose - sweet image.

How do you achieve such a great low angle shooting position, Kaustubh? Are you lying on the shore?

HI Kaustubh, customary low shooting angle with great colours in the background. Also like the alert typical Grebe pose with good eye contact and HA.

Gotta love your shooting angles these days Kaus. Congrats on your first capture of one these little guys, and I really like the sharp detail, and two tone BG.

Excellent! The low shooting angle, smooth BG and eye contact are great. Wish it was presented bigger though.
