Not only did we share a liking for the Green Heron, but Dave was the first to introduce me to Fractalius. I thought of him as our resident plug in tester. Really miss the guy!

Excellent fract work Bill and a great image for a tribute to Dave. He really is missed and his participation and leadership in this forum/site will always be remembered. I love the clear eye and the fish couldn't be more perfectly positioned.

Great capture. I like the high key look to the image. Beautifully done.

Love the high key look, that killer fish, the head and fish angles, and the image design. Which FRACT pre-set did you use/start with?

Appreciate the comments, and I think Dave would have liked it. Arthur- no preset and I always set both sharpness sliders to 100, and line width to 0, Scale all the way to the left, and drop saturation. I play with the other sliders. Basically I try to create a thin line drawing for the top layer (frac layer), then decrease the opacity to about 50% to reveal the base image. I usually use the history brush to restore the eyes to the original. regards~Bill

Superb image Bill! It's always a challenge to get the bird and the prey in focus and positioned nicely and you did both admirably.

That he was! Dave introduced quite a few new techniques to BPN. Great pose for both bird and fish and love the high-key effect.
