Days have not been the same in Cooterville since our friend has gone. We look for him on the shore every day, where he used to come and visit, but we cannot find him. He was not like the other humans, with their noise and guns. He was a quiet and gentle man who seemed happy to see us and even talked to us as if we could understand him. We will keep looking, and maybe someday we will see him on another shore and a bigger pond...

Thanks everyone. I did this with a heavy heart (and a light head thanks to Vicodin...). I'm looking forward to getting back to my old self but expect that it will take a while. Thank you all for being there. I considered Dave a mentor and friend and I miss him a lot. He would be pleased and proud to see the work that you all are doing here and especially the images that have been presented here in his memory.

Nicely done, Kerry! I'm glad I did a little research in the archives and on Dave's site before this theme came about so I know what Cooterville is.

Kerry, it's a beautiful tribute to Dave. The eye of the coot even looks sad and goes perfectly with your words. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Thanks Kerry, though I never met Dave in person, your clever tribute brought tears to my eyes.
