With the first golden ray of sunrise, the ducks and teals were very active in Dibru Saikhowa-during my recent trip to India.

The orange golden light was sprayed all over and would last only for a few minutes!!

I was in a rocking boat and tried to witness this lift off from a lowest possible angle ! Any more lower - I would have been tumbled in the water with my equipment.

Kindly Let me know how you find this image.

    Canon 7D, 500mm+1.4x, ISO640, 1/2500 f8, -1/3, support on wooden edge of the boat.

    Saleel:

Hope this is correct for your first name

Great sense of action here, with splash, flying water, pose.

Light is lovely as you mentioned.

The blurred wing tips work well. Wish the head was somewhat sharper. I am not sure where you focus point was positioned.

Lower shooting angle would have put the bird against the sky, which I would prefer here, but not possible as you mentioned.

I might add a little canvas at top to allow the bird to climb into it.

    Cheers

    Randy

Another vote for more canvas above (and both sides to retain aspect ratio), but great timing on your part. I like the swoopping down wing positions, and of course the large splash.

Great timing and skill to capture this with the lens on the gunnels! Adding a bit of canvas above would help and not be too difficult. A bit less contrast would likely improve it. Lastly the big splash looks to be the sharpest thing in the image, almost too sharp.

Don't get me wrong--it is a strong image and I like it :)
