That's a fine picture. How did you choose the 1 2/3 EV?

Love the pose of the owl and the details in the bird. I also like the placement in the frame and general composition. Only nit is would have liked more contrast with the BG.

Love the stare down and the perch it's on. Very well done.

A lovely image. Love the pose and the perch as well as the composition. And the bird is very well exposed. But maybe rethink the BG?

Nice image of this Snowy. Like the eye contact and the delicate feather pattern which you have captured well. Lovely light and exposure.

Michael, Very nicely captured. Exposure looks great. I like the pale blue sky and I am glad you didn't saturate it.

Terrific image. Great stare, and beautifully exposed. Lovely comp. Is this a Jersey bird?

I like the pale on pale too. Great exposure. I'd love to see the subject a bit smaller in the frame, with more of the perch showing.
If this is from this year I'll say great find as they have been rather scarce compared to other winters.

That's a fine picture. How did you choose the 1 2/3 EV?
George, with the scene being virtually all white, Michael needed to add that much +EC to avoid the image from being underexposed as the camera meter would be fooled in rendering the scene in a darker grayer tone otherwise.

George, Thanks for the comments. Daniel (thanks Daniel) answered that question for me. I needed to add that much +EC to avoid the image from being underexposed

Bill, I should have mentioned this Owl was photographed in NJ 2 years ago. I was with Denise Ippolito.
Not baited and no call was used. We found this one hanging out on the beach and we photographed it for about 2 weeks. We were able to slowly get close.

Daniel, I have no more room on the bottom. Thanks.
