    Default Mountain Goat

Taken during midday with a cloudless sky at over 10,000 ft, the light and shadows were pretty strong. I wish the angle would've been better but I was wanting to show some high mountain habitat and the goat and BG mountain ridge gave me what I was looking for. Also wished for a head's up pose but this one didn't comply. The goat seems a little blue to me but when I max out the blue and cyan channels, they don't show at all in his fur. Was wondering if that's from the amount of bluish mountain BG playing tricks on my eyes or if others are seeing the same thing. 7D, 1-400L @ 180mm, f6.3, 1/3200s, ISO 400, tripod, small crop from the right (as viewed).

Great looking image Steve, not a bad goat either. Love the view of the surroundings shown here. Exposure looks good as well as sharpness. Love the comp. Well done.

Hi Steve, I like the setting, showing the distant OOF mountains. Im fine with the pose, and you have captured good fur detail which looks nice and white to me. Maybe a little more space needed on the right.

    Steve,

This is lovely, no "blues" for me, fur looks well exposed.

I like the "I am not really looking at you" expression from the goat

A truly wonderful animal in the environment image

this is really great Steve! love the pose and perspective and the light is definitely no deal-breaker here.
fur is well exposed and I don't pick up any blues on the goat either

a tad more space at the bottom would have been nice...

Hi Steve, well to coin a Harshad phrase, 'This rocks!!!'.

A cracking image in many ways, but to have a fraction more at the foot would make this one a real winner.

Steve - no blue for me either. Great comp and I love the way you have shown the habitat with the mountains behind.
