Haven't dropped by in a while so decided to drop in. Taken in NJ after the most recent snowstorm. Very late afternoon light.
Canon 1D Mark lll with the 100-400mm lens at 210mm at f8 for 1/1250 sec. at ISO 640 HH. Saved at 63 quality to fit.

    Hey Roman
I like the pano comp used here. A cracker of a image, colours and light are fantastic and love the head turn and open mouth. I also feel the dark BG and snow take this image over the top TFS

Hi Roman, nice to see you stretching your legs and posting here.

This Fox looks in good condition, with a nice thick, bushy coat. I do like the colour on this one and the expression on his face. Have you added any addition blurring to the BG, as it has really helped separate the subject, plus the slightly overcast snow which helps define more of the subject too.

BTW what is the 'light yellow fauna' in the snow towards the front of the right paw?

    Hey Peter,
Here in NJ.....they are habituated to humans and feed on garbage and such.....not a pretty picture....but that is a fact of life here so tame.....would be a fair discription but I do worry what happens to them if they show their "wild" side!
Steve.....the BG was fairly far away (50+ ft) but I do think I ran Jules tip of a surface blur on it. Good eyes!

Nice shot Roman. Good pose on the fox and I like the different colors in his fur. The dark spot helps tie him into the surroundings for me. Detail looks pretty good (especially for saved quality) although the "fauna" referenced by Steve K. has an odd glow to it.

    Hey Gang,
Thanks......the light yellow stuff......is a lichen of some sort. In hindisight.....perhaps a clean up is in order!

Good looking fox in nice habitat. Agree re: the lichen. Techs look good. Great color to this fox. Well done.

What a start to the day I have had, three truly wonderful images.

Everything looks remarkably good with the noted exception of the Lichen which looks "odd".

The snow on the nose adds even more.

I always dig photos of animals in snow as we don't have that in our neck of the woods

Roman - you should drop by more frequently. Nice pose with good detail. Like the snow on the nose, the open mouth and the teeth showing.

Light and colours are to die for!!!! Would prefer to see the fox slightly smaller in the frame.
