I finally decided last spring to dedicate some time and effort to my photography. Funny how I never got any better with the camera packed up in the closet!

My life has definitely been enriched by taking the time to stop and observe the behavior of the creatures & birds, trying to shoot an image that captures a bit of the beauty of Creation!

I like to shoot just about anything in nature. I'm blessed with my wife Susan, who enjoys nature just as much and likes to help me find subjects.

After lurking in various BPN forums for some time, I decided it was well worth $20 to join for a year! I learned much from reading comments on others images and figured I'd learn more if you critiqued mine! I first found this site through A. Morris's Birds as Art site.

Steve, glad to have you with us and glad you pulled that camera out of the closet! I promise if you stick with it for a year posting and critiquing other images you'll be profoundly changed as a photographer at the end of that time. Every year that I'm here I look back on old images and think "Wow, has my photography changed!"

Glad you came out of lurking. We'd love to see your images in the Eager to Learn forum if you want to start there, otherwise jump in anywhere and have fun!

Thanks, Steve! My sister has a cabin on the east side of Pimushe Lake. Got any "must shoot" photo locations I should visit when I get up to see her this summer?

Hi Steve. For starters, you should be able to find loons right on the lake, along with duck broods, great blue herons, etc. - no need to travel far once you're up there. In the summer, I'm pretty much into macro mode and those opportunities can be found anywhere. Good luck!
