    This fella landed on the platform feeder in front of my blind at point blank range so I captured a nice close up of him

    This is indeed a very nice closeup, Joel. Wonderful detail, and I like your exposure level. I also like the fact that his bill is open - it adds interest. Fun to look at!

    Joel:

    Nice calling pose, great color in the eye, well exposed.

    To my eye it looks a bit grainy/noisy, very visible in the bill, but even in the reds.

    If you had the option, a lower ISO might have helped. I suspect you were set up for a different shot.
