Sorry to have been away... Been leading an IPT in SW FLA. Axel is my guest as a thanks for the great work he has done here at BPN and Jim Poor is also along. Helluva nice folks. This morning at Little Estero Lagoon we put Alfred Forns to work throwing some frozen threadfin herring.

We were surprised to see the pellies leaping into the air so we got low, really low to avoid the horizon, and went to work. This image was created with the Canon 70-200mm f/4 L IS lens, the 1.4X TC (handheld at 208mm), and the EOS 1-D MIII. Don't be shy. All comments welcome. I will be back pounding the boards this weekend. Later and love, artie

This is a photo of a joyful pelican.I like the crop. I am so very envious of those who have been on the IPT. My IPT with you was a really wonderful experience.

Love it Artie. The pose and crop are over the top for me. Very refreshing to see a unique angle and perspective as this. !!!!

Well this is certainly different... in a good way. I like the comp/crop. It shows just enough of the wings and body, and that fun facial expression really stands out, nicely thought out and presented:)

    Hi Artie,

Very interesting pose. Very sharp but the most important thing for me is the head position.

very unique shot artie. i've never seen a pelican shot from this angle or with this expression. the crop and framing compliments the vertical action well.
