So, Artie. Uh, the name of the image isn't a clue?

    Cheers,

Something with sand on a beach looking straight down?

I agree with Nancy, first thing I thought of was beach sand.

I have seen this somewhere. . . seems like it was caused by waves on the beach, patterns in the sand.

Artie, I think I see some footprints and this could be pattern from the retreating waves on sand around those footsteps... if I turn it 180 deg, it seems to me to be edge of a small sand mound.

I agree regarding its an image from the beach, looks like an impression that kelp made in the sand.

Thanks all. It is an image of patterns in the sand, looks like some sort of mini forest to me. It was created with the hand held 15mm fish eye at Coronado, CA on the recently concluded San Diego IPT. Thanks to Todd Gustafson for opening our eyes to the patterns; there were lots of them that afternoon (only).

Michael, Correct me if I am wrong, but peeking at the title sort of takes the fun out of things, no?

Artie, I didn't intend to peek at the title (just downloaded to take a closer look)... but got a chuckle that there was the answer right there (did take the puzzle out of it for me, though)...

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Michael, My images are posted at 800 the long way at 96 dpi so downloading them will never give you a "better look."

In addition, we ask that folks not bring the images into PS to enlarge or scrutinize them but to simply view them as presented :)
