This baboon offered me an inquisitive stare in the northern Kruger Park in 2009. The ape was sitting on a branch next to the road which afforded this nice perspective. Full frame as shot.

Doesn't look like he is happy with you Morkel.

I would have like it if you zoomed out some and gotten the elbow.

Nice look it's giving you Morkel. Exposed well and sharp. Wonder if you had pulled back on the zoom a bit could you have gotten all of the baboon in or was there some distractions, or perhaps the desire fo ra tighter perspective:). At any case well done and really like the bg for this one.

    Sharp where it matters Morkel.

Agree on being a bit too tight a shown with bits of limbs missing.

A crop of just the head and chest might work for web size resolutions.

    Cheers

    thanks for the comments, gents
I went for tighter compo in camera here, as there were many distractions of the flora kind all around, and I only got one look so no chance to recomp after this one. I felt the critical focus is on the face and the included hand and the cut off parts didn't phase me that much when viewing this for processing.

    Morkel,

It is always a problem choosing whether to include everything or not.

I would try to take out the "half arm" on RHS and crop to just below the visible hand at the bottom.

    Just tried it to thin.

This one made me chuckle Morkel, what were you doing to stop him and look at you?

    Hey Morkel,
I have to agree with the cut limb.....but did you think of going even further with a crop as it is FF? I think eliminating off the bottom....entire branch with crop or crop clone (to not get hand to close to bottom frame) and then the entire hand out.....I think this would also work and make a strong comp!

Great look from this guy and a super sharp, clear photo. Crop doesn't bother me too much as this one is all about the look.
