I love the animal flips that Ken and Denise do so well but I tend to do better with the abstract stuff. Here's my version of a kaleidoscope image that started with a half frozen reflection on a lake.

And here's the original. The dark colors were created with a blend mode change (vivid if I remember correctly).
Wow Jules, The colors are awesome. I like the way it looks stretched to the corners. Very nice flip!!![]()
Wow....this is even more impressive when I saw what you started with. Incredible transformation.
Thanks Denise and Lana. I couldn't believe it when I did the final flip and all those colors and lines came flying out of nowhere. These flips are so addictive but so time consuming that I try not to get too lost in them.
All I can think of when I see one of these is groovy and this one is especially GROOVY!!![]()
It's amazing that came from the original image. Very creative Jules and beautifully done.

Amazing colors, Julie. Like the effect very much.
Wow, that is amazing! I agree with Ken, its GROOVY. How exactly did you make the transformation Jules?
Brendan, I started with the left side of the image and used filter/polar coordinates to get me started. I then flipped that horizontally and then flipped those two pieces together vertically to give me my base. I then copied part of the image and rotated it 90 degrees - that's what usually creates the kaleidoscope effect and then changed the blend modes to deepen and intensify the colors.
Hope that helps! If you need basic flip information I know Denise has it posted here somewhere...
If I remember correctly, Jules has a basic flip tutorial in her blog.
Ken, would that be the blog I haven't written in for almost a year? I had forgotten all about it. But I know Denise has it here somewhere because she pointed me to it (if I remember right.)
And YOU obviously have it...look what you're doing with it!
Yes, that would be it.
I read it once, got the general idea and then forgot the step by step. Like most tutorials, once you get the concept, you don't need to follow it exactly but it definitely got me going in the right direction. Now it's all fun and games!
Here's a the link to Jules' blog on flips.
