    Default DAP Snowy Egret

If I remember correctly, Dave introduced DAP in OOTB with some outstanding compositions which got many of us hooked onto it... here is one remembering him and some of his techniques...

Used one of my recent snowy images. Applied DAP on a separate layer. Copied and applied topaz simplify. Changed opacity of the layers and applied a light canvas texture on the final version.

Indranil, I love this! The DAP program really adds so much to this snowy. I think Dave would love this too and I remember Dave as being the one to introduce us all to DAP. Just beautiful!

HERE IS A QUESTION FOR OOTB POSTERS~
I like a little less space on the bottom of an image when there is a reflection. I would be interested to know how others feel. I know for landscapes I have read that many well known photographers feel it should be straight down the center. Sorry Indranil, not trying to hijack your post as it deserves many kudos. but thought that getting some feedback from our members/participants would be good.

Indranil, this is just beautiful! A rich feel to this canvas and the reflection is killer. I agree with Denise that a bit off the bottom would enhance the image. But I love it as presented - one of your best!

This is quite lovely with a very good intertwining of effects. I am in Denise's camp of a little less on the bottom.

    Indranil,

This image looks as if it is printed on silk. Beautiful effect and wonderful, soft colors. Outstanding image.

The crop as presented works fine for me.

Denise, I sometimes feel the rules of composition need to be broken if for nothing else but to allow for individual creative expression and growth. And because of this belief, often times giving a critique can be a difficult process for me.

Thanks all. Appreciate it a lot.

Denise, Thanks for bringing it up. I did think about the space below when composing but went back on it as the reflection of the snowy was an image in itself (more colorful!) facing each other and centering made the most sense to me then. Here is another version for comparison...

Indranil, Thanks for sharing the comparison images, after seeing them I am going with your OP as your strongest. Very nice processing and thanks for being such a good sport. Can't wait to meet you in Florida!!

Everyone, Thank you all for your thoughts. I asked because I often wondered what everyone else thought. I appreciate the varied views and I think that in the end each image will dictate the crop-at least for me.

Beautiful image, Indranil. Excellent painting effect and reflection. I'm with Denise on preferring a little less room below a reflection, so I prefer the repost comp though I might add a little more room all around.

Indranil, they're all lovely. I love the painting effect you achieved.
