Good-looking bird, Don. Interesting perch too. The head turn might be a bit too far-the bill is hard to see.

Love the pose and the eye contact. The beak seems separated from the head enough for me.

I've always pushed the recovery slider up in ACR to bring back the clouds. As far as the contrast I brought this image in CS4 and went to the selective color menu and moved the black slider up on the red channel by +4, +4 on the neutral channel and +15 on the yellow channel. Try it and see what you think.

What a great looking individual! Perfect look-back HA, and I love the details throughout. I wouldn't mind seeing a bit looser comp, but still OK as is. I'd remove the little reflection in lower part of the pupil, as well as the bigger white spot on the perch.

For the clouds you could just selectively lighten them via the dodge tool - should work well. Try 8% exposure on "midtones" (use a soft brush).

Nice over-shoulder pose. With the beach separation, I think the head angle is OK.

Good suggest on using Selective Color to work the clouds or hawk for that matter.

Hi Don, Great looking Hawk, nice look back pose and puffed out feathers. I pulled it into PS and did Duanes suggestion with selective color and it added a nice subtle amount of contrast that looked good.
