    Default Black-bellied plover

I took this Thursday morning at Barnaget Jetty. I have a few questions.
    1. This is a lack-bellied plover but the bill looks longer and thicker than normal while tail feathers are short. Can anyone explain.
    2. I forgot to calibrate my laptop before leaving. Does the color balance and brightness look o.k.?

    D300s, 600 with 1.4 tc. 1/400 at 5.6. EC +.3, (auto) iso 400.

Very nice image and bird! Nice detail and eye contact. The whites, exposure, and sharpness all look excellent. Sorry, can't help you regarding unusual bill. Nice capture.

    :)

    Beautiful shot

Black bellied , non breeding plumage, short bill, large eye and overall grey color so may be a touch less saturation? Overall a reddish cast?

Well framed, good head turn and pleasing BG. Excellent work. I agree a bit of magenta looking.

Very nice image, good comp and pose. Although I like the OOF FG element, I would have preferred you go higher and/or right just a tad to have separation between it and the tip of the toe.

Brightness looks good, colours are hard to judge in this case as there is no flagrant cast and I wasn't there to see what the actual colours were like. If you were going for a slightly warm with a hint of a yellowish/reddish look that is what you got.

Thanks for the comments. I noticed I left off the b in black-bellied; I did not think this was a lack-bellied. :)

I am noticing a magenta cast now. I will be careful while using this monitor.

I agree Daniel on the oof fg.

Allan, I like the pose and comp. I agree w/ you regarding the tail. Nice image and it appears a tad warm.
