Default Long-tailed Widowbird display flight sequence

As a follow-up to yesterdays post, just a fun image of a sequence shot and then collated in photoshop to illustrate the flight pattern of the Widowbird. Watching them with that seemingly heavy tail they seem to float effortlessly above the grass. At any one time there can be quite a few of them displaying in the grasslands, wonderful to watch.

Pieter, A beautiful flight pattern that you have shared with us. I like the varied poses and the distance you put each one from the other. The first pose on the left is my fav. I love the tail and the awesome look of it. Must be a difficult capture as I never see any posted. I do wish that we could see the head on some of them a little better but I think it's a size thing more than anything. Nicely done and thanks for sharing.

Thanks all for your kind comments.

Denise I am pleased you like it and yes the original images were too small for detail. This was originally done for an online Field Guide here in South Africa.

Having been moved to this forum I have just had a look at some of the other images and wow there are some very creative photographers here.

Thanks for sharing this Pieter. Nature can be amazing. As with Denise, the first pose is my favorite. Beautifully done.
