This Varied thrush has been seen in Central Park, N.Y.C., for about the last 6 weeks. I was able to visit there during a recent trip to New York. The day I was there there were at least 10 photographers taking pictures of it, and I understand that's been the case all winter - so I'm surprised it hasn't appeared yet on BPN (unless I missed it).
Self-critique - head angle and sharpness of some of the feathering on the shoulder area could be better, but this was the best I could get. Moderate crop.
Richard, I like it a lot -- almost looks as if it is standing on a cloud up in the sky. So, for me the head angle being slightly away, and its feathers being not highly contrasted and saturated lends to the other-worldy appearance and feel of the image.
Urban birding! Much appreciated by this resident of Shanghai. A shot of not a little ornithological interest, but there's one problem that you didn't mention: You didn't get down in the snow with him.
