    Great color and pose.

    Did you consider taking out that floating thistle (I guess it is) below the goldfinch to the right?

    My eye also veers a bit to the left edge because of the plant being cut off - did you have other crop options at that edge?

    Todd, good colours and sharpness on the goldfinch, and I like the HA. I would just remove the 'hair' in the BG.

    Nice sharp bird with great eye contact. Love the inclusion of the habitat. I would also consider removing the grass behind the birds beak and a bit more room on the left with the bird more central in the horisontal plane.

    Lovely shot I think the previous suggestions are worthwhile, maybe also consider scrolling the image down on your computer screen a bit - to the more or less horizontal thistle leaf - do you like that composition?
