Doing a bit of a wing flap. I have another with the duck a bit higher in the water but preferred the wings in this one. The photo is straightened and cropped.

Real nice exposure and excellent detail and sharpness Dave. Like the pose and eye contact, would have been nice if wings were completely spread, but still great capture. Normally, might take some off the L side, but I actually like the space you gave it with your crop, including the ripples and some of the reflection.

Very nice detail, color, exposure. I especially like the water droplets on the white of the body.

    Hi Dave

Good exposure and fine detail in whole bird, cheeky eye contact adds character!

Always amazed as to the complexity of the wings

Beautifully exposed, Dave! Wow, details in both the blacks of the head and the bright whites on the wings...sweet!

I do think you could bring the crop in a little. You can't really get his eye into a ROT's position but you could get his eye into the ROT's top line/center area and put the tip of his beak at the ROT's top left intersection and crop in a bit from there...something like this:

This a great image. The wing clarity is excellent. The water droplets on the feathers stood out to me. Water sheds off a ducks belly, too. The eye is bright and bold. Very nice.

    Thanks everyone for the comments.

Jules, I'll try and track down that third's grid. I think Fabs posted a link to one sometime ago.
