This is a Oriental White Eye, I had setup in a hide near a small pond where these guys frequent. this one came a bit close and gave me an eye to eye :). because of the low light I could not push for more DOF.

    spec: 1/160, F 5.6, ISO 800

    Kiran:

Fun, down the barrel pose, he looks a bit maniacal!

I think it works well as posted, but if time allowed, with the MkIV, I would have been tempted to crank up the ISO to get some more DOF.

    Cheers

Outstanding! Love the DOF as is - focuses all attention on the eyes. Great BG as well.

    thanks

Amazing capture, Kiran - With the wonderful crisp focus on the eye/head and upper body, the oof portions don't bother me either. A really breathtaking image!

one word - WOW! You could not have gotten the pose and focus better. I don't know how the 1D-IV does at higher ISO, could you have gone to ISO 1600 and f/8?

I agree it is sharp where it needs to be, but I still would have preferred a higher ISO and smaller Ap....especially if this is full frame...even at 3200, it would have turned out nicely with the MIV. Still nice shot and love the pose and look.

Great pose, expression, and detail Kiran. Those eyes and stance almost look like a cartoon, like the M&M characters! lol Nice job.

beautiful image bhai. as like randy said i would sure love to give iso boost and grab more dof. with mkIV i think with such close encounter you can sure go with 1600 and up to 2500 easily. tried 1600 but not 2500

Awesome shot! I think the DOF is just right, any more and you would have lost some impact.

Kiran, dont know how I missed this one. Loved the head-on pose and shallow DOF. So different.
