    Taken at Homosassa Springs FL late this afternoon.

    Nikon D300
    70-200mm f/2.8 @ 195mm
    ISO 400, f/8, 1/1600

    ACR and CS5 - levels, selective sharpening, cloned out a few small dots in the black background.

    Comments and suggestions welcome!

    I like this a lot...very good detail in the feathers and the BG helps show this. I find one slight distraction.....The larger light drop of water at the tip of the beak could maybe use a little toning down as my eye is pulled towards it.

    A very nice and sensitive shot.

    I really like the composition.

    I wonder if a bit more dof would have added details to the neck area.

    Very nice with the water drops as well.

    Beautiful pose and I love the back background. It would have been nice (but probably impractical) to get just a little light into the shadowed part of the bill on the bird's right side (the viewer's left side). The black there makes the edge of the bill disappear, and to my eye, look as though it's been sheared off. If possible, I'd like to see that area of the bill lightened just enough so the real edge is visible.

    Really lovely, Maureen! The water drops really add to the image and the black against the white of the swan is very powerful. That touch of soft pink adds just the right amount of contrast.
